Our Office

In 2010, Jones Day's Paris Office relocated to the Hôtel de Talleyrand, located on the Place de la Concorde. The move was made possible by an innovative public private partnership arrangement. Jones Day lawyers worked with the U.S. State Department to plan and complete the renovation of the historic building, which formerly served as the U.S. Consulate in Paris.

The Paris Office typically relies on our trainee program when recruiting first-year and junior associates. Each practice in the office selects associates from among the former trainees based on its current needs. This works well for all involved because our trainees have become acquainted with the Firm, the Paris Office, and the lawyers with whom they will work—and the Firm has had the opportunity to learn about the interests and skill sets of the trainees—before they join our various practices.

Junior associates have the opportunity to attend the New Lawyer Academy, an annual event held in Washington, D.C. Each fall, new lawyers assemble from our more than 40 offices around the world to meet and network with each other and learn what it means to be One Firm Worldwide. Our Firm leaders, partners, and associates teach the new lawyers about Jones Day's culture, history, organization, and achievements and lead substantive and interactive training sessions. Every year, our new lawyers take away from the Academy a sense of great pride and excitement about being part of the Firm.

The Paris Office welcomes trainee interns throughout the year for a three to six-month training period. Trainee interns join the practice of their choice and will participate in client matters under the guidance and authority of an experienced lawyer.

Applicants must have at least a Master's degree in French law as well as fluency in spoken and written English. The Firm prefers candidates who are admitted to the French bar school (EFB) and/or hold a dual degree (LLM or diploma from a French grande école such as HEC, ESSEC, ESCP-EAP, or Sciences Po). We hire most of our junior associates from among our interns.

PARIS Assistant Facturation Bilingue Anglais H/F

Sous la supervision directe du Directeur Administratif et Financier et de la Responsable Facturation du bureau de Paris, l’Assistant(e) Facturation est en charge de la facturation et du suivi des dossiers clients du cabinet, en relation directe avec les avocats désignés.

Fonctions essentielles et Responsabilités:

  • Travailler en relation directe avec les Associés et Avocats afin de les assister sur la facturation des dossiers.
  • Suivre et veiller à l’application des conventions d’honoraires de nos clients en veillant au respect des différents circuits d’approbation.
  • Vérifier la conformité des honoraires et frais refacturés à nos clients.
  • Générer sur demande des proforma ou projets de facture en fonction des demandes des Avocats.
  • Incorporer les modifications apportées par les Avocats et préparer les factures finales en veillant à la conformité des factures.
  • Préparer sur demande des rapports statistiques pour les avocats et les clients.
  • Soumettre les factures sur les différentes plateformes de facturation électronique (eBilling) en veillant à suivre l’évolution des approbations et à remédier à tout problème rencontré dans la soumission électronique des informations.
  • Suivre de façon précise les montants restant à facturer et les factures impayées.
  • Enregistrer, classer, archiver l’ensemble des documents liés à la facturation.
  • Mise à jour des dossiers Clients / Affaires dans nos différents systèmes.
  • Maîtriser les systèmes et outils de facturation du Cabinet.
  • Veiller à suivre l’ensemble des procédures mises en place.

Compétences & Aptitudes :

  • Excellente communication écrite et orale aussi bien en Français qu’en Anglais (niveau B2 minimum).
  • Connaissance d’un/de logiciel(s) de facturation clients, et idéalement du logiciel Aderant.
  • Bonne maîtrise d’Excel, comprendre et aimer les chiffres.
  • Capacité à travailler de façon autonome, à prendre des initiatives, à fixer des priorités et à savoir remonter les problèmes rencontrés.
  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches simultanément.
  • Aptitude à établir des relations de travail efficaces de façon à favoriser l’esprit d’équipe tant avec les Avocats, l’équipe des Services Financiers et l’ensemble du personnel.
  • Très bon relationnel, car en contact direct avec les Associés du cabinet et nos clients.
