Holger Neumann practices regulatory law, focusing on certain regulated industries, namely telecommunications and aviation. He also practices German and European administrative law, including environmental law. Holger has represented clients before regulatory authorities, such as the telecommunications regulator BNetzA, the competition authority BKartA, and aviation authorities, as well as in litigation before German courts and the European Court of Justice.

Holger's recent representations include a mobile telephone operator in investigations of the competition authority, several telecommunications providers in regulatory proceedings concerning price control and in litigation regarding the regulation of interconnection rates, a telecommunications solutions provider in connection with telecommunications services outsourcing agreements, and a satellite operator on frequency and satellite usage issues.

In aviation law, Holger is representing airlines and providers of ground handling services in litigation against airports concerning airport fees and is advising on the liberalization of the European air transportation sector.

Holger is also advising on other regulatory issues, especially environmental laws relating to waste and hazardous substances. His most recent experience concerns compliance with European laws, such as the WEEE and RoHS Directives, the directives regulating the use of the CE Mark and, in particular, the European REACH Regulation. He is advising clients in the chemical, metal, and electronics industries on REACH compliance and REACH consortia.

Holger is head of the German Government Regulation Practice of Jones Day. He has been nominated one of "the world's leading lawyers in TMT/telecommunications" by Chambers Global and as one of "the leading names in telecommunications" in the JUVE Handbook of German Law Firms for 10 consecutive years.
