Guqiao Yang

Guqiao Yang focuses his practice on cross-border M&A, foreign direct investments, joint ventures, divestitures, and corporate governance matters. He frequently assists Chinese companies in outbound investments and other commercial transactions across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

Guqiao has advised clients in a variety of industries, including consumer products, manufacturing, automotive, energy, health care, and technology. His recent notable experience includes advising: a leading Chinese automotive company in its formation of a joint venture in Spain; a leading Chinese biotech company in the sale of its U.S. subsidiaries; a Hong Kong-listed company in its acquisition of a U.S. furniture manufacturer; a global automotive supplier in the sale of its China business; a semiconductor manufacturing service provider in its acquisition of a Chinese manufacturer of plastic products; and a leading Chinese automobile manufacturer in its formation of a 50/50 joint venture with a major French automaker.

In addition to his transactional work, Guqiao works closely with Jones Day lawyers from other jurisdictions and practices in advising Chinese clients on their overseas regulatory and compliance matters.
