Emily Tujaka

Emily Tujaka represents corporate clients in a wide range of disputes, including contract disputes, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) matters, and nationwide litigation on behalf of a national pharmacy related to opioid dispensing and distribution practices. She has contributed to multiple successful outcomes at the motion to dismiss and summary judgment stages, helping clients resolve claims before trial.

Emily's litigation experience covers every phase of a case, from initial pleadings through disposition. She drafts pleadings and dispositive and nondispositive motions, and she has experience managing discovery and conducting privilege reviews in document-intensive matters. She also supports case teams with fact development, legal research, and other day-to-day litigation work.

Emily maintains an active pro bono practice. She has represented individuals seeking asylum in U.S. immigration courts, helping them navigate the asylum process and prepare their cases. She has also been involved in Jones Day's Constitutional Policing and Civil Justice Reform (CPR) Initiative, which works toward systemic reform of policing practices in minority communities across the United States, conducting an internal investigation into alleged police misconduct.

Emily is committed to using her legal training and broader skills to serve the community beyond her practice. She serves on the associate boards of Resilience, which provides crisis intervention, counseling, and advocacy for sexual assault survivors in the Chicago metropolitan area, and Hope Ignites, which supports motivated young people from middle school through college graduation and career launch. She also regularly volunteers with Cake4Kids, baking birthday cakes and other celebratory treats for underserved youth throughout Chicago.
