Paul Stancil's trial practice focuses on complex civil litigation matters involving antitrust, trade secret, and general commercial disputes.

Paul has served as trial counsel in multiple litigated matters in U.S. federal courts and Texas state courts. He has represented energy, health care, technology, hospitality, chemical, construction, and food industry clients in litigated matters and government investigations. Before joining Jones Day in 2026, Paul represented a travel technology company in a successful antitrust lawsuit brought against major U.S. hotel chains in the Eastern District of Texas, represented a major online real estate platform in its successful defense of antitrust claim, tried multiple insurance defense cases to jury verdicts as lead/sole counsel, handled motions practice in more than 20 state courts, and served as lead lawyer in multiple commercial fraud cases.

Paul also has a distinguished 16-year career as a law professor, where he taught courses on antitrust law, civil procedure, evidence, and trial advocacy.

Paul is a member of the Houston Bar Association Antitrust Section, the Texas Bar Foundation, the Garland Walker Inn of Court, and the American Bar Association Antitrust Section. He is also a former member of the Utah Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure.
