Thomas McIver focuses on high-stakes corporate and commercial disputes. He has litigated a wide range of complex civil matters, including class actions alleging consumer protection, securities fraud, and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) claims. Thomas has also represented institutional clients in connection with regulatory and criminal government investigations.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2024, Thomas worked at a law firm in Washington, D.C., where he represented financial institutions and corporate clients in civil litigation matters at the trial court and appellate levels. His experience includes successfully defending corporations in class action disputes before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as serving as a key member of a trial team victory in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Houston. Thomas also represented institutional clients in connection with federal and state criminal and regulatory enforcement proceedings, including investigations of securities fraud, consumer protection, and antitrust violations.
