Samuel Evan Milner, Ph.D., represents clients in a range of commercial litigation, including antitrust and competition law, environmental and toxic tort litigation, and utilities law.
His practice includes the drafting of a full range of pleadings, motions, and briefs at the trial and appellate levels and before state and federal courts, regulatory bodies, and arbitration panels. Drawing on his academic background, he also works closely with expert witnesses from many disciplines, including economics, history, medicine, and occupational hygiene.
Beyond his legal practice, his published scholarship on price regulation, unfair methods of competition, and federal and state antitrust laws has received citations in judicial opinions, merits and amicus briefing, agency material, treatises, and academic scholarship. Prior to joining Jones Day, he held two clerkships on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and before that he held a lectureship at Yale University, where he designed and taught courses on international economic development, American political economy, regulatory history, and business history.
