With 25 years' experience at Jones Day and the Department of Justice, Julie McEvoy is a formidable litigator and trusted advisor for companies facing antitrust investigations and litigation.

Clients turn to Julie to defend them against novel theories of liability. She obtained a complete defense verdict on charges that Sanofi filed a sham "citizen petition" to restrain competition for Arava. She is defending Sanofi against antitrust claims it exploited U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) processes to delay competition for Lantus and consumer protection claims concerning the prices of all its insulin products.

Companies also seek Julie's counsel in government investigations and parallel private litigation. After criminal investigations of the vitamin industry, Julie served as national coordinating counsel in hundreds of cases and played similar roles in automobile and paper industry cases. She is representing National Beef in investigations and litigation involving its cattle procurement practices and defending Cargill against allegations of a conspiracy to suppress poultry processing wages.

When a transaction is at stake, clients call Julie to defend them in merger litigation. She represented Penn State Medical Center and Pinnacle Health Systems against the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) challenge to their combination and is defending Axon against the FTC's effort to unwind the company's acquisition of another body-worn camera manufacturer.

During the Obama Administration, Julie served as Deputy Associate Attorney General, overseeing the Antitrust Division and formulating policies and strategies for high-profile matters. Julie also counseled Administration principals on immigration issues and directed the President's Task Force on Puerto Rico.

Julie represents asylum seekers from around the world.
