Joshua McKersey (Josh)

Josh McKersey has extensive experience acting in complex, high-stakes commercial disputes for clients across the energy and resources and shipping sectors. Josh acts in litigation, international arbitration, expert determination, and regulatory matters for clients across the oil and gas, mining, electricity, rail, and shipping industries and has a particular focus advising on or acting in significant disputes with international or cross-border elements.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2026, Josh worked in the commercial dispute resolution group at a top-tier Australian firm. In this role, his notable achievements included obtaining landmark judgments in the Supreme Courts of Queensland and Western Australia regarding the Hague Evidence Convention and acting for the successful appellant before the High Court of Australia in The Goliath litigation concerning the Convention on the Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims.
