Lin Kahn has more than 15 years of experience representing clients in high-stakes antitrust litigation and government investigations. She represents companies in the pharmaceutical, technology, manufacturing, and defense industries in matters involving claims of monopolization, conspiracy to restrain trade, tying, exclusive dealing, unfair competition, and unlawful mergers. Lin previously served for five years at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where she was the first-chair trial counsel in the agency's successful trial against dental products distributors, as well as the lead attorney on numerous other conduct and merger investigations.
Lin's recent matters include representing a leading technology company in a class action alleging unlawful tying and monopolization, securing dismissal without leave to amend at the pleading stage; a pharmaceutical company in an antitrust class action alleging conspiracy and monopolization claims; a manufacturer in an antitrust case brought by the FTC and State Attorneys General; multiple companies in various FTC investigations; and a video game developer as a divestiture buyer in the FTC's merger challenge against Microsoft/Activision. Lin also has significant experience litigating antitrust class actions alleging "no-poach" agreements between competing employers and other competitor agreements. She was part of the Jones Day trial team that obtained a full defense jury verdict in favor of a hospital system in a group boycott case.
Lin is a member of the Executive Committee of the Antitrust Section of the California Lawyers Association and is involved with the ABA Antitrust Section's Civil Practice and Procedure Committee.
