Samuel Ferguson represents and advises clients on a wide range of labor management relations issues and employment matters. Samuel's practice focuses on traditional labor matters and business transactions.
Within the past year, Samuel has worked on matters involving union organizing, collective bargaining agreement negotiations, unionized workforce restructurings, nationwide joint employer strategies, unfair labor practice proceedings, and complex labor arbitrations. He also has significant experience advising clients on business transactions, including advising clients in the cryptocurrency, biotech, and energy markets. In addition, Samuel regularly litigates in federal court on behalf of clients.
Samuel has an active pro bono practice, including providing full-service traditional labor and employment counseling to national nonprofits and successfully representing asylees in administrative agency proceedings. In addition to his pro bono practice, Samuel volunteers and mentors high school students with Minds Matter Chicago, an organization dedicated to equalizing educational opportunities for low-income students. He is also a member of LAGBAC, Chicago's LGBTQ+ Bar Association.
