Jean Chou's practice focuses on intellectual property, particularly patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent landscaping, and IP due diligence. Jean has a master's degree in chemical engineering and has experience in diverse technical areas, including semiconductor foundries, semiconductor equipment, lithium batteries, and electric vehicle technologies.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2024, Jean played a pivotal role in expanding business operations at a distinguished IP firm in Taiwan, where she acquired a deep understanding of the country's industrial landscape, particularly in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sectors. During this time, Jean handled patent invalidation, administrative litigation, and patent infringement litigation for semiconductor equipment and due diligence of an international electronic company's memory patents. As a patent litigator with a dual background in technology and law, Jean adeptly manages technical and legal matters in court hearings. Her in-depth understanding of technology enables precise analysis of infringement and validation issues, bolstering arguments effectively. By simplifying complex technology into clear statements, she facilitates the court's understanding and contributes to favorable judgments.

Jean also assists clients in patent filing strategy, mitigating patent risks, and providing corporate intellectual property management services. She has published articles on corporate intellectual property management in prominent domestic media.

Jean is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), where she contributes to insights on corporate valuation and patent appraisal.
