Brittany Wilhelm represents corporations and individuals in high-stakes investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She has successfully defended clients in investigations and enforcement actions involving alleged securities fraud, accounting fraud, health care fraud, financial fraud, and other violations of federal law, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), False Claims Act (FCA), and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Brittany is particularly adept at helping clients navigate SEC enforcement matters from start to finish.

Brittany has helped obtain nonpublic DOJ and SEC declinations — and a full defense verdict at trial — for corporations and individuals facing government enforcement efforts. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, including banking and financial services, manufacturing, health care, retail, and energy. Brittany is also experienced in conducting internal investigations into allegations of misconduct. She has conducted cross-border investigations around the globe, including in China, Germany, Mexico, and Vietnam.

Building on her enforcement experience, Brittany frequently counsels clients on compliance-related issues, including the federal securities laws and the FCPA, to avoid government investigations and enforcement actions. She has deep experience assisting companies in developing and enhancing their compliance programs and internal controls. In addition, Brittany represents corporate clients in complex civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience in various aspects of pretrial and trial procedures, including discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, depositions, and witness examinations.

Brittany is active in the community and serves on the board of directors of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
