Maryssa Mataras represents and advises employers in a variety of labor and employment matters. Her practice experience includes race, gender, national origin, disability and religious discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, restrictive covenant issues, and government agency investigations.

Maryssa litigates employment matters in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York City Commission on Human Rights, and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. She has experience defending cases under Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and various state and local laws.

In addition to defending clients in litigation matters, Maryssa provides employers with practical advice about all aspects of employment law. She regularly counsels clients regarding employment policies, litigation avoidance, mediation, diversity and inclusion initiatives, hiring and screening practices, terminations, and internal investigations.
