Megan Heinz focuses her practice on federal tax controversy and litigation, representing clients in high-stakes disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at all stages, from audit through trial.
Before joining Jones Day in 2025, Megan served as a special trial attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where she handled complex tax matters involving transfer pricing, economic substance, and valuation. She regularly worked alongside IRS examination and appeals teams and litigated cases in the U.S. Tax Court, gaining deep insight into the government's approach to tax enforcement and dispute resolution. Megan brings particular experience navigating cross-border issues and advising on tax matters involving Fortune 500 companies.
