Jasper Berkenbosch leads the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team in Amsterdam. He has extensive experience advising companies in distress, directors, funds, banks, and creditors on a wide variety restructuring and insolvency matters, including insolvency proceedings and litigation, turnarounds, workouts, post-restructuring issues, cross-border restructurings and insolvencies, and director and shareholder liability matters. Jasper acts as insolvency administrator in high-profile cross-border cases like: Intertoys, Oi S.A. (administrator of the Dutch finance vehicle of the Brazilian telecom giant), and PaperlinX Holdings B.V. (a global paper distributor).
He is regularly appointed by the court as administrator and trustee in complex insolvency proceedings. He has particular experience in real estate-related restructurings and cross-border restructurings involving multiple jurisdictions in and outside Europe.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Jasper was partner at a global law firm for seven years. During this time he advised and acted as administrator in cross-border restructurings, including: Landsbanki, BenQ, BCCI, Celtic, and AXA Porto Kali. Jasper was involved in a number of cross-border restructurings in the real estate, pharmaceutical, and financial sectors.
He is a Fellow of INSOL International (International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals). Jasper is a board member of INSOL International (Dutch representative of INSOLAD) and a board member of the Netherlands Association for Comparative and International Insolvency Law (NACIIL).
