Terri Chase is an active litigator who has extensive experience handling complex employment litigation matters, including defending against employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, FLSA and state wage and hour actions, breach of employment contract and noncompete agreement claims, defamation and related employment torts, and employee benefits claims. She has represented clients through all phases of litigation, including jury and bench trials and arbitrations, and arguing appeals, summary judgment motions, and preliminary injunction motions. In addition to litigation, Terri regularly counsels employers on a host of employment matters, including wage and hour compliance, Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower rules, the Family and Medical Leave Act, employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, reductions in force, restrictive covenants, employment and severance agreements, managing a union workforce, and personnel policies and procedures. She also advises on employment issues that arise in the transactional context.

Terri recently represented a high-end national retail establishment in obtaining dismissal of harassment and discrimination claims in a public hearing at the New York State Division of Human Rights. She also obtained early dismissal of a putative wage and hour class action filed against a world-class health care institution. On the traditional labor side, Terri negotiated a number of collective bargaining agreements on behalf of a New York-based security company.

Terri is a member of the labor and employment sections of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York City Bar Association. She is a regular speaker on employment law matters.
