Sanjiv Kapur practices U.S. and international corporate and commercial law and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Selected representations include: Cliffs Natural Resources' acquisition of Minera Cerro Juncal S.A., a company with mining concessions in Argentina; Cliffs Natural Resources’ acquisition of a 51% interest in a joint venture for the exploration of iron-oxide/copper/gold deposits in north-central Chile; Cabot Corporation’s entry into a guarantee letter with the Colombian Superintendency of Industry and Commerce related to alleged anti-competitive practices involving distributors; Harris Corporation’s formation of a joint venture with Johns Hopkins University for the development of innovative medical imaging solutions; Infinite Convergence Solutions' strategic alliance with Motorola to develop and support Motorola’s software enabled SMS and MMS messaging solutions; Dow Corning’s acquisition of Companhia Brasileira Carbureto de Calcio, a Brazilian company active in the production of silicon metals and ferro silicon; Endesa S.A.’s acquisition of Smartcom S.A., a Chilean wireless service provider from Leap Wireless International, Inc.; Harris Corporation's $675 million purchase of Tyco Electronics' worldwide private mobile radio business; and Bayer Pharmaceuticals' strategic alliance in the primary care pharmaceutical business (for products such as Cipro, Avelox, and Levitra) with Schering Corporation in the United States.

Sanjiv is fluent in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, and Hindi and has written and spoken extensively on corporate law topics. He is a past president of The City Club of Cleveland and serves on the board of trustees of Notre Dame College and CIPUSA.
