Serge Clerckx has extensive experience in EU competition law and government regulation, particularly in the IT, communications, and consumer goods sectors.

His competition practice covers both merger control and antitrust. Examples of recent merger cases include P&G's acquisitions of Sara Lee's air care business and The Gillette Company, as well as the sale of its European tissue and towel business to SCA, and various acquisitions by British Telecom (BT). His antitrust practice includes complex investigations and private enforcement litigation, including a €500m damage claim for abuse of dominant position, as well as day-to-day counseling for global trade associations on antitrust compliance.

Serge's government regulatory work involves representation of clients in IT, communications, and other regulated industries at the international, EU, and national levels. Most recent matters include the representation of the GSM Association before the European Court of Justice in Case C-58/08 on the legal basis of the regulation of international roaming prices.
