Sharyl Reisman's practice focuses on environmental and occupational toxic tort and product liability litigation. She has represented clients in the electronics, chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, and consumer products industries in matters across the U.S. She has extensive experience in cases involving cancer, reproductive issues, and birth defects and in working with experts on the clinical, epidemiology, toxicology, risk assessment, and exposure assessment aspects of those cases. She also counsels clients on environmental regulatory matters and safety and health-related issues.
Recently, Sharyl was trial counsel for Yamaha in a significant bellwether case relating to rollovers of a recreational off-road vehicle. After a three-month jury trial, she obtained a complete defense verdict. Sharyl is currently defending IBM in a case involving claims of personal injury, medical monitoring, and property damage relating to groundwater contamination and vapor intrusion. Her other recent representations include defending against cancer claims allegedly due to historic oil exploration activities in South America and sterility claims allegedly arising out of historic field work exposure to pesticides. She was a member of the trial team defending Dole Food Company in a five-month jury trial of the first of these sterility claims to go to trial. Sharyl also represented IBM in hundreds of claims alleging various health effects from chemical exposures in the workplace and was a member of the trial team in a four-month jury trial of the first of these cases to be tried.
Sharyl heads the Firm's New Lawyers Group worldwide.
