Jörg Hladjk's practice has focused on European cybersecurity and data protection matters for more than 12 years. He leads the Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice in Brussels.

He advises multinational clients across all industry sectors, with an emphasis on automotive, IT, energy, and medical devices. His work covers all areas of EU data protection, such as implementing the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy Regulation compliance programs, data breach preparedness, and incident response. Jörg has specific experience in developing strategies for international data transfers, including Binding Corporate Rules and assisting with approval procedures by EU data protection authorities. He also has negotiated numerous data processing agreements on both the customer and provider side as well as successfully represented clients in contentious data protection matters.

Jörg's notable recent representations include advising a major U.S-based software company on its offering of cybersecurity tools for the EU, a global automotive supplier on a GDPR compliance program and its implementation, a multinational company on its strategy for connected cars services, a medical device company on its mobile app technology, and a leading U.S.-based company in memory and semiconductor technology on EU data protection issues.

He is chair of the advisory board of the ICT industry association Trust in Digital Life (TDL) and co-chair of the IAPP Brussels KnowledgeNet Chapter. Jörg also served as a Legal Expert at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior's roundtable during the trilogue GDPR negotiations. He has authored more than 40 legal articles and is a coauthor of leading EU commentaries, including Ehmann/Selmayr, GDPR, 1st edition, 2017.
