Jones Day represented Credit Suisse and CIMB Investment Bank Berhad, as joint bookrunners and placement agents, in connection with the offer and sale of 300,000,000 New Ordinary Shares of Maxis Berhad, a leading communications service provider and large mobile operator, in the United States pursuant to Section 4(a)(2) of the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 and outside the United States in a Regulation S offering under the Securities Act.

The transaction raised RM1.66 billion (US$387 million) and represents Maxis’ first fund-raising exercise since its initial public offering on Bursa Malaysia in 2009, the largest-ever primary placement for a Southeast Asian telecom company, and Malaysia’s largest private sector primary placement since 2013.
