Rick Puente es un abogado certificado en arbitraje y litigio internacional por el Colegio de Abogados de Florida. Es miembro de un equipo de arbitraje reconocido por Global Arbitration Review como una de las firmas de abogados líderes en arbitraje internacional en la edición 2020 de GAR 30. Rick representa a clientes en asuntos comerciales y de inversión ante cortes y tribunales de arbitraje internacional que involucran testigos, documentos y procedimientos tanto en Español como en Inglés, a nivel nacional e internacional.

Entre las representaciones notables de Rick se incluyen; defensa de una importante aerolínea en un tribunal federal en relacion a propiedades confiscadas durante la Revolución Cubana de 1959 (denuncia desestimada); representación de un ciudadano Chileno para asegurar la recuperación de inversiones realizadas en un esquema internacional Ponzi; asesoría a una empresa Canadiense en relación a demandas antimonopolio y acciones relacionadas a la venta por US $4.1 billones por la participación de una mina en Chile; asegurar un acuerdo favorable para un banco de inversión en un arbitraje por US $ 60 millones; representación de un filántropo en una Convención de la Haya, en una demanda federal RICO en Texas y en un arbitraje ICC por US $ 500 millones en Nueva York que involucra a una empresa con operaciones en 17 países; representación de un abogado y empresario de origen mexicano cuyos fondos fueron congelados por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos (devolución asegurada de millones de dólares).

Rick se ha desempeñado como conferencista invitado y moderador en temas de arbitraje internacional y litigio en universidades y en conferencias en los Estados Unidos, Europa y Latinoamérica. Se desempeñó como presidente de un Comité de Quejas Judiciales del Colegio de Abogados de la Florida (2011) y es el Presidente del Capítulo Local de la Florida del Club Español de Arbitraje (CEA), una organización internacional líder en arbitraje con sede en Madrid, España.
