Matthew Skinner is a leading international arbitration practitioner. He has extensive experience representing clients in legally complex and sensitive disputes. These include joint venture, licensing, construction, and post-M&A disputes across a range of industry sectors (notably oil and gas, pharmaceutical, mining, manufacturing, and energy). Matt understands the business dynamics and strategic issues impacting the dispute resolution process, enabling him to provide solution-driven, commercially focused advice and effectively guide his clients through the litigation/arbitration process.
Matt also advises and assists clients in investigations and prosecutions, including conducting internal investigations for clients.
Matt has practiced in London, Sydney, and Singapore and handled disputes in many forums, including courts and international arbitration tribunals (SIAC, LCIA, LMAA, HKIAC, ICC, UNCITRAL, and CAS). He also has experience in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including adjudication and mediation. Matt is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a panel arbitrator at SIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Centre), HKIAC (Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre), JCAA (The Japan Commercial Arbitration Association), Korean Commercial Arbitration International (KCAB), and AIAC (Asian International Arbitration Centre). Matt is also a member of the SIAC Users Council.
