Markus Hamann has built a strong practice over the last 15 years in the fields of public and private construction law, public procurement law, renewable energies, and environmental law. His experience focuses on regulated industries, complex construction projects including large commercial properties, wind, solar, and nuclear power plants.
Markus supports clients in project developments in the areas of commercial real estate including high-performance datacenters, the construction and revitalization of shopping centers and shopping malls, and the construction and expansion of hotels and holiday resorts. His practice also extends to the negotiation of urban development contracts, support in planning procedures, construction of large industrial plants, and infrastructure projects. In the area of European public procurement law, Markus advises clients in the participation in tendering procedures and related litigation. He advises on a range of environmental law, particularly emission control approval procedures, compliance issues in the context of acquisitions or disposals, and environmental liability. Markus has substantial experience and knowledge in the fields of energy law and renewable energies, construction of wind farms, cogeneration power plants, and the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
Markus also has an extensive track record in litigating cases concerning building permits and preliminary planning permits before administrative courts, legal review proceedings aimed at defeating urban development plans before Higher Administrative Courts, claims and counterclaims related to real estate developments, and construction projects before district courts and Higher Regional Courts.
