Sumer Ghazzawi has experience in a wide range of Saudi corporate and commercial matters. She has advised on foreign investment in Saudi Arabia, corporate restructurings, and joint ventures (including M&A). In addition, she advises clients on Saudi Sharia law and regulation and on corporate compliance and requirements with Saudi regulations and provides legal advice regarding the entity structures for different commercial and professional companies in the pre-incorporation phase.
She also has advised foreign investors on the formation of their presence in Saudi Arabia, including obtaining Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and foreign investment licenses and other regulatory licenses, and has participated in the incorporation of multinational industrial companies in Saudi Arabia.
While earning her master's at Chapman University in California, Sumer served as a mediator in the mediation clinic at the university's law school, where she handled a variety of cases such as civil harassment restraining orders, debt collection, small claims, trial de novo, and juvenile hall at the Superior Court of California in Riverside.
Sumer also has served as an ambassador of organ donation awareness with One Legacy of Orange County, California and is the co-founder of the organ transplant support group and volunteer public speaker for organ donation awareness with the Saudi Center For Organ Transplantation.
