Stephen DeGenaro represents commercial clients in complex civil litigation in federal and state trial courts. He has represented clients in a broad range of industries, including financial services, consumer products, construction, energy, and retail, among others.

Stephen is currently involved in Jones Day's representation of an international client in multidistrict litigation, defending against claims brought under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA). Previously, Stephen helped defend one of the three largest credit reporting agencies against claims brought under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and defended the company in more than 30 individual and class actions.

Stephen is also actively involved in pro bono work, including representing immigrants seeking asylum in the United States and coordinating the Firm's involvement with the D.C. Bar's Landlord Tenant Resource Center. He also participates in the Housing Right to Counsel Pilot Project, a joint effort between the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center and legal service providers in the District to reduce subsidized housing evictions by increasing access to pro bono services.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Stephen served as a law clerk on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
