Public International Law

Public international disputes have grown with the globalization of commerce and the increased involvement of state and state-owned entities – our Global Disputes lawyers are experienced and well positioned to address and respond to public international law matters wherever they occur.

Global Disputes has represented the governments and state-owned entities of Ethiopia, Loas, Norway, Russia, and the Republic of Yemen. We represented an African government in preparing claims against other sovereigns following the violation of international environmental treaties. Our Global Disputes attorneys include a former legal assistant at the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal, and many of us have worked with the Public International Law & Policy Group (PILPG) in advising sovereigns on human rights, issues of transitional justice, and devolution of central power to regional bodies, in such countries as Kenya, Libya, Uganda, and Nepal.
