Patrick Hu is highly experienced in representing multinational clients in cross-border M&A, private equity, financing, and commercial transactions across North America, Europe, Asia, and China. He focuses on international mergers and acquisitions, private equity, foreign direct investment, and other cross-border business transactions and represents clients in various industries including energy, automotive, telecommunications, consumer products, real estate, construction, education, and media and entertainment. He also advises and represents major Chinese state-owned and private companies in their overseas acquisitions and other investment projects.

Patrick's recent experience includes the following: representing multinational companies in the merger and acquisition, formation, and operation of wholly foreign-owned and joint venture enterprises in semiconductor, automotive, energy, chemical, home appliance, consumer products, real estate, pharmaceutical and medical device, and other commercial and industrial sectors in China; representing private equity investors and technology companies in numerous equity financing deals in telecommunications, media and entertainment, e-commerce, high-technology, real estate, and food and beverage in China; and representing major Chinese state-owned and private companies in the acquisition and operation of mining assets, energy development projects, automotive, and pharmaceutical businesses outside China.

Patrick also advises multinational clients on cross-border labor and employment matters as well as commercial dispute resolutions.

Patrick frequently speaks on international M&A deals involving China to government agencies, commerce and trade associations, as well as industry conferences and seminars. As a native of Shanghai who has practiced in the United States, Hong Kong, and China, Patrick is fluent in negotiating and preparing transactional and other legal documents in both English and Chinese.
