Jim White has more than 30 years of experience representing clients in major business litigation and arbitrations throughout the United States in disputes involving real estate, the sale of businesses, regulated utilities, environmental conflicts, and insurance coverage.

Jim has achieved positive results for clients in disputes over development and limited liability company (LLC) agreements; financing real estate projects; buyer indemnity and fraud claims brought in court and arbitration proceedings and post-closing accounting procedures for sales of businesses; purported ratepayer class actions; utility tax disputes and constitutional claims; lawsuits under federal and state environmental statutes and environmental liabilities; and insurance coverage related to toxic tort, environmental, and mass injury claims.

Jim's significant trial wins include defense verdicts after a five-week jury trial of a $200 million contract claim and after another five-week jury trial of a $2.3 billion Robinson-Patman/Sherman Act claim. In addition, he has led teams that successfully tried disputes over sales of businesses before arbitral panels and courts and numerous other contract cases.

Jim is assistant chairman of the board of Music of the Baroque, a Chicago Eighteenth Century performance group.
