Shams Alhendi practices corporate law within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as internationally, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings.
Shams has worked on several transactions in the Kingdom's electric power industry and has litigated enforcement, labor, and commercial disputes, particularly in the contracting and health care sectors. She has advised on arbitral and enforcement proceedings; worked on labor matters, including employment contracts, unilateral terminations, and Saudization; and represented clients in international distribution deals in the food and drug industry.
Shams has extensive experience with the Kingdom's data protection and privacy laws, particularly those affecting the health care and construction industries, and she has frequently worked on regulatory compliance issues affecting the financial sector. She has helped establish regional entities, including the Kingdom's first independent sewage treatment plant, and has advised on post-establishment licensing requirements.
An active member of her community, Shams frequently participates in pro bono programs.
