Luke Newman has a domestic and international practice that is focused on construction, energy, and infrastructure dispute avoidance and resolution. He also has experience advising on disputes regarding complex suretyship arrangements.
Luke's recent experience prior to joining Jones Day in 2024 includes acting for: an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor in an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration in a dispute arising from the design and construction of toll roads in South America; a developer in adjudication and enforcement proceedings in relation to building safety defects; a major project subcontractor in a dispute relating to the provision of guarantees; and the freeholder in the first ever remediation order made in the First-tier Tribunal under the Building Safety Act 2022.
