Kristen A.Lejnieks

Kristen Lejnieks is a trial lawyer representing clients in a broad range of complex matters — including cases involving antitrust, fraud, and contract disputes. She has tried cases in state and federal courts and represented clients in mediations and arbitrations. Kristen also has significant experience with corporate criminal and government investigations.

Kristen is an experienced antitrust litigator. She defended Electrolux Corporation at trial regarding the DOJ's challenge to the proposed acquisition of General Electric's appliance business. Kristen has litigated price-fixing, market allocation, product-hopping, and sham litigation claims. Beyond antitrust, clients have relied upon Kristen to handle litigation concerning contract disputes, consumer class actions, and fraud. She has represented clients in the railroad, automotive, pharmaceutical, health care, consumer goods, retail, energy, oil and gas, and technology industries.

Kristen also has substantial experience with all stages of corporate criminal investigations and defense, including conducting internal investigations, analyzing financial records, responding to subpoenas or investigative demands, communicating investigation results to clients and government agencies, and negotiating resolutions. She has represented clients before the DOJ and the SEC and has experience with investigations involving corporate disclosures, books and records violations, restatements, internal controls, and the FCPA.

Kristen represented the National Security Archive in its highly publicized lawsuit against the Executive Office of the President, which sought to preserve and restore millions of missing emails from the White House. She heads up the Washington Office's Housing Right to Counsel Project, a joint effort between the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center and legal service providers in the District to reduce subsidized housing evictions by increasing access to pro bono services.
