Fuli Cao has more than 20 years experience in international tax practice with a focus on the tax and business aspects of international transactions between China and other countries and regions. His practice includes inbound and outbound China investments, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and restructuring, and tax dispute resolution.

Fuli has represented clients in a variety of industries on tax-related matters in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He advised General Electric in its acquisition of the Salof group of companies including interest in Beijing enCryo Engineering Co. He has guided Total S.A. on China tax issues in the $3.2 billion sale of specialty chemical affiliate Atotech B.V. He has represented clients in numerous outbound investments including $232 million acquisition of a portfolio of PV solar generation facilities in the United States by Shenzhen Energy Group and the formation of $1.5 billion Canyon Bridge Fund. He has advised various multinational companies in their global reorganizations including guidance on complex issues of direct or indirect transfer equity interests in China subsidiaries.

Fuli is author of Corporate Income Tax and Practice in the People's Republic of China and a contributor to BNA Tax Management Portfolio Corporate Bankruptcy. He is a speaker on China tax and investment at various forums.
