Jones Day assisted a major oil and gas company with the sale of its assets and interests in an offshore hydrocarbons concession in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jones Day's work included the review of the legal and regulatory regime applicable to hydrocarbons to assess potential liabilities, and the review of an amendment to an agreement with the state of the DRC in view of extending the duration of the concession rights prior to the drafting and negotiation of a sale and purchase agreement.
