Three inmates successfully appeal their constitutional challenge to their conditions of confinement
Clients Inmates appeal
Jones Day was appointed by the Third Circuit to represent three inmates on appeal in a constitutional challenge to their conditions of confinement. In a unanimous, published decision, the court reversed the district court and held that the inmates had alleged a valid constitutional due process claim stemming from extended restrictive confinement by the Delaware Correctional Center following their conviction on murder charges but prior to sentencing. Jones Day also successfully opposed the State's petition for writ of certiorari in the U.S. Supreme Court.
