Somalian citizen is granted asylum

Clients Client M

As a Somali citizen and a member of a minority clan, Client M suffered from extreme violence as well as social and economic oppression in his home country. After years of physical abuse, he witnessed the murder of his father and two brothers and the rape of his sister at the hands of majority clan members. Following this incident, Client M fled to Kenya and eventually made his way to the San Ysidro Point of Entry in San Diego, California where he requested asylum. On June 25, 2009, he was successfully granted asylum in the United States after a finding of both past persecution and a well-founded fear of future persecution if forced to return to Somalia.
