PNC Bank (formerly, National City Bank) secures complete appellate victory before the Dallas Court of Appeals

Clients PNC Bank (formerly, National City Bank)

Jones Day represented the former National City Bank in a lawsuit brought by Texas Capital, seeking to hold National City liable for substantial funds allegedly paid in violation of a writ of garnishment. On cross-motions for summary judgment, the trial court denied National City's motion and granted judgment for Texas Capital, requiring National City to satisfy Texas Capital's underlying judgment in its entirety. Jones Day lawyers Christopher Groves, David Horan, and Andrew Wirmani, handled the appeal, which resulted in an effective reversal of the trial court's judgment and rendition for National City. The appeal was argued by Issues and Appeals partner David Horan. The published decision can be found at National City Bank v. Texas Capital Bank, N.A., 2011 WL 5926661 (Tex. App.--Dallas 2011)
