Jones Day raises novel Confrontation Clause challenge in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit

Clients Fields, Frederick

The Jones Day Dallas team of Andrew Wirmani, David Horan, and John McKenzie represents Frederick Fields pro bono in an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit that challenges the denial of Fields's petition for a writ of habeas corpus. The appeal arises from the Sixth Circuit's grant of a certificate of appealability that permitted Fields to challenge the constitutionality of his murder conviction based on numerous statements that were admitted against him as evidence at trial in potential violation of his right to confront his accusers under the Sixth Amendment.
