All-cargo carrier successfully defends against claims seeking millions of dollars in damages

Clients All-cargo air carrier

Jones Day represented an all-cargo carrier in connection with a lawsuit filed by a plaintiff who was injured by falling cargo in the warehouse of a ground services handling agent. Plaintiff alleged breach of duty and care against both the handling agent and the carrier that transported the cargo at issue. The carrier denied any wrongdoing relating to the incident. After demonstrating through depositions that the plaintiff’s allegations against the carrier were unsupported, the air carrier settled the matter before trial for a small fraction of the total amount sought by the plaintiff.
