Goodyear successfully defends against allegations of trade secret misappropriation
Clients Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Jones Day successfully defended Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and two of its employees against allegations of trade secret misappropriations made by a Czech Republic citizen and two of his companies relating to self-inflating tire technology. The complaint alleged that Goodyear stole Plaintiffs' trade secrets and incorporated them into several U.S. patent applications and patents. In September 2016, the court granted Defendants' motion to dismiss, denied Plaintiffs' leave to amend their complaint, and entered final judgment. Plaintiffs then moved for reconsideration. In September 2017, the court denied that motion in its entirety, ending the case with a complete Goodyear victory.
