Twilio wins dismissal of putative class action lawsuit over alleged violations of TCPA and Washington state law

Clients Twilio, Inc.

Jones Day defended Twilio Inc. in a putative class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Washington State Commercial Electronic Mail Act, and the Washington Consumer Protection Act. The plaintiff alleged that Twilio, a cloud-based communications company whose APIs enable third-party software developers to create applications to make and receive calls, videos, and text messages, had sent a text message without the plaintiff’s consent. The court dismissed, with prejudice, all claims against Twilio.
