Ancillary services provider to SNFs resolves two criminal and civil investigations

Clients Ancillary services provider

Jones Day represented a provider of podiatry, optometry, dental, and audiology services to residents of long term care facilities. We coordinated the defense of the company in two federal districts on criminal and civil false claims investigations regarding whether improper inducements were provided to skilled nursing facility operators and unnecessary services were performed. Jones Day resolved the matter by a combined civil settlement with payments over time, no criminal charges against the company or its executives, and a corporate integrity agreement limited to the company's operations in one state. Jones Day also assisted the company in setting up a new compliance program.
