Aetna Life Insurance Company secures dismissal of putative TCPA class action

Clients Aetna Life Insurance Company

Jones Day defended Aetna Life Insurance Company in a suit filed in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon by a putative class representative who alleged that she had received telephone solicitations in violation of both the "robocall" and "Do Not Call" provisions of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Rather than expending time and resources in protracted litigation, Jones Day initiated a thorough factual investigation at the outset of the dispute. The results of these investigatory efforts led to a prompt settlement of the putative class representative's claims, thus mooting the class action.
