Mesa obtains summary judgment in commercial dispute with Accessory Overhaul Group
Clients Mesa Air Group, Inc.
Jones Day represented Mesa Air Group, Inc. and Mesa Airlines, Inc. ("Mesa") in a dispute with Accessory Overhaul Group, Inc. ("AOG"), which provided wheel, tire, and brake overhaul services to Mesa's fleet of regional aircraft from 2007 to 2012. The dispute arose out of AOG's claim that it is entitled to compensation for the remaining life on wheels, tires, and brakes it installed prior to the termination of the parties' commercial relationship. AOG claims to be entitled to more than $3 million, and asserts alternative contract and equitable causes of action. Mesa asserts counterclaims associated with parts AOG failed to overhaul. After approximately six months of discovery, the parties attempted to mediate the dispute, but were unable to reach a mutually agreeable resolution. Mesa filed an omnibus motion for summary judgment in September 2013, which was granted as to all of Plaintiffs' claims.
