Jones Day resolves EEOC charge for Cleveland Foodbank

Heather Dechert of Jones Day, Cleveland, represented the Cleveland Foodbank pro bono against an EEOC charge filed by a former employee. The charge alleged that the former employee was discriminated against based upon sex, and discharged in retaliation for complaining about sexual harassment, both in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. The parties agreed to early mediation. The EEOC mediation failed, however, the parties were able to come to an agreement themselves. The parties signed a Settlement Agreement resolving the matter.
