Mongolian domestic violence survivor granted asylum

Clients Client T

Dara Levinson (San Francisco) obtained an affirmative grant of asylum for Client T., who fled to the United States from Mongolia after suffering severe physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her ex-husband. Client T. was granted asylum on January 21, 2014, after a two and a half year wait. Affirmative asylum applications typically are granted or denied in several weeks, but, given the complicated nature of the case, Client T.'s application was referred to the Asylum Office headquarters in Washington, D.C.
