Public manufacturing company resolves allegations brought by whistleblower

Jones Day was retained by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of a public manufacturing company to investigate whistleblower allegations by an executive of the company. The allegations involved financial reporting issues with certain deferred tax allowances and abandoned property reserves. Jones Day worked with forensic accountants to address the issues to the satisfaction of the Audit Committee and the company's auditors, and to resolve the allegations by the executive as he exited the company.
