Ambulance provider settles government investigation involving swapping arrangements

Jones Day represented Rural/Metro Corporation in Southern California in a False Claims Act suit alleging that two acquired entities, Pacific Ambulance Inc. and Bower Companies Inc. violated the anti-kickback statute by providing discounts known as "swapping arrangements". The settlement resolves a qui tam complaint brought by a rival ambulance provider and included three
other ambulance providers.
