Holocaust survivor awarded pension for labor performed in Nazi-controlled ghetto
Clients Klein, Anne
Through a partnership with Bet Tzedek, Jones Day started working with Anne Klein, a Holocaust survivor, in 2010 to secure a pension for her from the German government for “voluntary” labor performed while in Nazi-controlled ghettos. The Jones Day team navigated a complex application process with the German government requiring detailed information from nearly 60 years ago and contact with various government and non-profit agencies. This effort resulted in Anne Klein receiving a pension for her own labor and a widow’s pension for the labor of her late husband, also a Holocaust survivor.
